Tumor growth modeling based on cellular automata under the effect of therapy

Abstract: Mathematical and computer modeling can lead to a better understanding of the dynamics of cancer progression in patients and could be useful for the prevention and finding new treatment solutions. Since the process of tumor growth is a complex biological process, it is difficult to predict the tumor growth status. The mathematical modeling using various methods can be useful to better understand the important features of such a process. Simplification of complex processes in computer simulations to understand the “in vivo” behavior of cancer while the results possibly match with the experimental findings is the most the fundamental factor in choosing a model. In this project we try to introduce a simple, efficient and physically accurate model of tumor growth.
