Abstract:


Disulfiram (Antabus) is oral aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) inhibitor that has been used in the treatment of alcoholism. Recent studies show that this drug has anticancer activities; however, its rapid degradation in gastric environment and blood stream has limited its clinical application. Encapsulation of disulfiram into nanoparticles might be effective in transferring and delivering of this drug into tumor site. The aim of this study is to synthesize of disulfiram loaded PLGA nanoparticles and investigate its effects on mice breast cancer.
